Sandbag is a campaigning organisation currently focused on emissions trading.
Sandbag gives you the power to easily remove tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere and campaigns for tighter caps on emissions.

Terms and Conditions of membership

The Sandbag concept is pretty simple so we don’t want to establish lots of complicated rules but there are a few things you need to know before joining:

Duration

Irrespective of what level you join at membership lasts for 12 months from the time you join. You will be given the opportunity to join for another year one month before the end of your time with us. However, if you have chosen to pay monthly with Paypal then your payments would normally continue on so in this case you will be offered the option to end your membership otherwise we’ll assume you are happy for it to roll over.

Cancellation

I’m afraid we don’t offer refunds part way through the year but members who are paying monthly can always change to different levels if they wish.

Cancellation of permits

During the twelve months of your membership we will be campaigning to get companies to cancel permits voluntarily. Part of your subscription fee goes towards funding this campaign work and it is also funded by grants and donations. Our objective is to use the permits cancelled by companies to fulfil our aim of cancelling permits on behalf of our members. If we are unsuccessful in persuading companies to cancel permits we will cancel permits on your behalf by entering the carbon market. We keep money set aside to ensure we can do this. But because both the currency exchange rate (we buy in Euros) and the price of permits change over time, we cannot 100% guarantee that we will be able to afford to buy the exact number of permits indicated. We will do our level best and we are confident that the amount we have asked for is enough to cover most scenarios but in the event that we cannot, we will be completely transparent about the situation and buy as close to the amount as possible. Each permit carries a unique identification number and you will be assigned a unique certificate for the permits that correspond with your membership. At the end of our financial year we will make the sum total of all permits cancelled visible to all members.

Special offers

We will from time to time create options for people to buy tonnes/permits as gifts for others. These products will have their own terms and conditions which need to be read separately.

The website

We ask members to respect our site and not to upload any copyrighted materials. We don’t expect to ever have to do this but we will disable user accounts if feel we need to protect the site and our users.
