Deadline for T-shirt orders

To our global parkour contacts,

Thanks again for registering your groups to participate in the One Giant Leap global climate jam on Saturday September 26th.

With groups across twenty countries now signed up, this is looking to be a truly spectacular international event.

However, in order to seek media and volunteer support for your jam we urgently require:

* A specific location for your event
* A specific time for your event (we recommend each jam runs for two hours)

Additionally, in order to provide campaign T-shirts for your event we still need:

* A contact name and delivery address
* A list of the names and T-shirt sizes (S, M, L) of the traceurs who have pledged to participate^

^It is valuable for campaigning reasons to have a list of names for participants and also helps ensure T-shirt orders are realistic. If this is not possible, please give us a reliable indication of the minimum number of T-shirts you'll require.

As our capacity and funds for this event are limited and international participation is high, we may need to ration the amount of T-shirts provided, and priority will go to those groups who provide information first. The above information is needed no later than Friday August 28th.

You can feed this information directly into our Googledocs spreadsheet or if you prefer, by emailing me the information at damien@sandbag.org.uk

We’re also pleased to announce we’ve just made a Google map of registered global climate jams live on our website, and have listed you as authorized collaborators. We will try to update information as quickly as possible, but please feel free to update your own groups information via the link we emailed to you.

Please get in touch if you have any questions or concerns. Otherwise, thanks again for helping us fight climate change in this unique and original way.

Kind regards,
Damien Morris

Global Jam update from Wednesday September 2nd

Dear global climate jam contacts,

Thank you for getting in touch with us with details of your local climate jam. The number of registered participants has exploded over last week and we now have roughly 2,500 traceurs involved around the world. This is extremely exciting and we're very pleased to have so much of the global Parkour community on board.

Observers of the map and spreadsheet we sent through will note we now have the following countries definitely participating:

Australia, Argentina, Brazil, China, Colombia, England, Egypt, Holland, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Italy, Kuwait, Malaysia, Mexico, Phillipines, Portugal, Russia, Scotland, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Uruguay, USA

We're also pleased to report that we have now ordered our campaign T-shirts for your groups to wear on the day. Final designs for the T-shirts are attached for you to see below.

We only had sufficient budget to print 2,000 T-shirts, so because takeup has been so great, many groups will receive slightly fewer shirts than they originally requested. Exact details of how many shirts each group can expect will be available by September 11th at the latest. We will aiming to distribute these as widely and fairly as possible to maximise our impact and reach. In addition, we are also exploring options whereby groups or individuals can purchase additional T-shirts if desired.

We will be aiming to update you weekly between now and September 26th.

Look forward to our next update which should feature a media pack to help you communicate your event. In the meantime, please sign up to our online petition yourselves and encourage your traceurs to do the same.

Kind regards,

Damien Morris

Media Resources and online petition

Dear global climate jam contacts,

In these last two weeks leading up to the big event it is important we attract as much media attention to our local climate jams as possible.

We’ve begun our blitz on the UK and international media and we hope you can help out in your city or country.

To help with this we have attached a Media Alert and Press Release (in English).

We encourage you to fill in the blanks and, translate these documents where necessary, and send the Media Alert out to as many media contacts as possible. Please don't send out the Press Release until next week unless a journalist requests it.

In the meantime please keep encouraging friends and traceurs from your groups to sign our online petition at www.sandbag.org.uk/onegiantleap

We have recently developed a petition button you can host on your own site which looks like this:

Get in touch with us if you would like to host this on a website or blog.

Please, don’t forget to let as many people know about your upcoming jam as possible both by word of mouth and through any social media (Facebook events, Twitter etc.) you use.

We’ll be in touch again soon. Until then good luck preparing for your local jam.

Kind regards,
Damien Morris
